Role Summary
The Accounts & Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial,
accounting, and compliance activities at Grace Metals’ Zambia operations. The role includes
managing daily accounts, budgeting, reporting, cost control, and financial planning to
ensure efficient plant operations and compliance with Zambian tax and regulatory
frameworks. This position is best suited for a detail-oriented and dependable professional.
No prior industry experience is required, and we are open to candidates of all levels and
backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
• Accounting & Bookkeeping:
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions including payables,
receivables, and general ledgers.
• Supervise data entry, journal postings, and monthly reconciliations.
• Financial Planning & Control:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop budgets and monitor actual performance against forecasts.
• Implement internal controls to prevent cash leakages and ensure cost discipline.
• Cash Flow & Banking:
• Manage daily cash flow, banking operations, and fund transfers.
• Liaise with local and international banks for forex, LC, and payment matters.
• Monitor liquidity and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Taxation & Compliance:
• Ensure timely filing of VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax returns.
• Liaise with ZRA, NAPSA, and local auditors for statutory compliance.
• Maintain documentation for audits and external reviews.
• Procurement & Inventory Coordination:
• Work closely with the operations team to track material purchases, imports, and
consumption.
• Ensure cost allocations are accurate across departments and projects.
• Reporting & Analysis:
• Prepare MIS reports and dashboards for management review.
• Conduct variance and profitability analysis by product line (lead, aluminum).
• Support management in cost optimization and expansion planning.
Key Skills and Competencies
• Strong understanding of financial accounting, cost control, and reporting in manufacturing
or trading industries
• Excellent command of Excel, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar accounting systems
• Sound knowledge of Zambian tax laws and compliance
• Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and accuracy
• High integrity and reliability in handling company finances
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work cross-culturally within a diverse workforce
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
Experience: Open to all backgrounds and experience levels
Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office
Suite
Preferred Background: Prior work experience in Zambia or similar African industrial
settings
Languages: English (required); familiarity with local Zambian languages will be an added
advantage
