Intern - Software Tester

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Software Tester Intern to join our Quality Assurance team. The intern will assist in testing software applications, identifying defects, preparing test documentation, and ensuring that products meet defined quality standards before release.

This role is suitable for candidates who are interested in building a career in software testing and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements, business processes, and functional specifications.
• Prepare and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test checklists.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, usability, and exploratory testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using issue-tracking tools.
• Re-test defects after fixes and verify that issues have been resolved.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA team members.
• Maintain accurate testing records and prepare test execution reports.
• Participate in daily meetings, sprint planning, and review discussions.
• Assist in validating application performance, usability, and compatibility.
• Support the team in improving testing processes and quality standards.

Pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Freshers and candidates with academic or personal testing projects may apply.

Basic knowledge of programming languages.

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of software development and software testing life cycles.
• Knowledge of manual testing concepts and defect life cycle.
• Ability to write clear test cases and bug reports.
• Basic understanding of web and mobile application testing.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, Trello, or similar platforms is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, API testing, or automation testing will be an added advantage.
• Good analytical, observation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completed an academic project involving software development or testing.
• Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodology.
• Familiarity with browser developer tools and basic test management tools.
• Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman is an advantage.
