Road and Bridge Design Manager

 Requirements:

Design Leadership: Oversee geometric road alignments, structural bridge analysis, and drainage systems to ensure compliance with standards like AASHTO or local transport codes.

Team Management: Mentor engineers, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and manage project schedules and billable work hours.

Quality & Risk Control: Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks on design deliverables, calculations, and contract plans.

Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the main liaison between clients, contractors, and public agencies to address review comments and resolve technical issues.

Cost & Contracts: Prepare project cost estimates, material quantities, and manage scopes under Design/Bid/Build or Design/Build frameworks

Key Responsibilities:

Membership of a recognized professional institution. 

20 years’ post qualification experience of which 15 years must be in team leadership positions.

15 years of experience in the design and construction of rural paved roads and bridges.

Responsibility for the design of three (3) reinforced concrete bridges with spans equal to or exceeding 50 meters.

Responsibility for the preparation of designs, drawings and priced BOQs for two inter-urban paved roads of a similar complexity to the project roads.

Engineering software proficiency such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or specialized structural analysis packages.
